The Associated Press has called the Vermont Treasurer’s race for incumbent Democrat Beth Pearce.
Pearce defeated her challenger Republican Wendy Wilton of Rutland.
In a statement, Vermont Democratic Party Chair Jake Perkinson commented on the results of the race:
“We are incredibly proud that Vermonters voted to elect Beth Pearce for another term as State Treasurer. Throughout her career, Beth is known for putting partisanship aside, instead focusing on saving taxpayer dollars and building a stronger financial future for our state. She brought those values to the campaign, and defied conservative Super PAC Vermonters First and her opponent’s misleading tactics to focus on a positive, fact-based campaign. We look forward to Beth continuing to hold the office of State Treasurer for the duration of her public service in Vermont.”
