The Waterbury Food Shelf’s facility was damaged during the flooding that occured due to Hurricane Irene. They are currently operating out of the ThatcherBrookPrimary School. People are at TBPS assisting to prepare meals and feed those who have been put out of their homes by the flooding.

The Rutland Region Chamber of Commerce has released updates on the assistance efforts with transportation in the area. The information found below is current as of 2pm, August 31, 2011.

The Vermont Agency of Transportation announces that today they have opened five (5) bridges in Bennington and Rutland Counties, and twenty (20) segments of downed roadways throughout the state in response to Hurricane Irene. The updated list is found below.
